Ministries of the 2018 Bishop's Partnership Appeal

The Archdeacon’s Fund for Education - This fund was established to provide grant assistance for Candidates and Postulants to the Diaconate. Aspirants are in formation for a ministry that is not paid, and grant money assists with costs related to education, training and the calling process.

The Belfry - Home of Lutheran and Episcopal Campus Ministry at UC Davis and the Lutheran Episcopal Volunteer Network (LEVN), a young adult service corps. These ministries give young adults the opportunity to grow in their faith in an ecumenical setting.

Camp Living Waters - A weeklong camp in late July for youth ages 9-15 hosted by the congregations of the Semper Virens deanery at Cookson Ranch in Humboldt County.  Youth ages 16-18 serve as counselors.  This is an entirely volunteer ministry on the part of the counselors and adult staff.

Campership and Youth Discipleship – This fund assists congregations and families in affording opportunities for their young people to grow as disciples, especially through our regional Episcopal summer camps and the diocesan Pathways Youth Pilgrimage.

Carmichael, St. George's – A vibrant congregation with many shared ministries. We have a community garden, a scholarship program for high school seniors, and ministries for veterans, immigrants, and people who are homeless.

The Center at St. Matthew’s – With the Board of Trustees support, we are in the process of transforming to better address the needs of our community through partnering with the Highlands Community Charter School and River City Food Bank. We continue to be a multilingual place of worship and welcome for all.

Diocese of Northern California, Lana Fund - This Fund assists seminarians with preparation for ordination; in particular, it provides for a Holy Land pilgrimage together with the Bishop.

Disaster Relief Fund - 100% of these funds assist victims of disasters as well as for long term recovery projects.

Episcopal Community Services - All money raised by ECS is used for funding grans for programs supporting Christ's mission in such a way that justice is served, people receive a hand up, and the dignity of each is respected.

Episcopal Foundation of Northern California - The Foundation will donate all funds it receives with this year's appeal to fund the inaugural year of the Barry L. Beisner Multi-Year Social Justice Grant.

Galt, St. Luke's - We reach out to the local community through ministry with area food banks and students, and through world ministry by offering college scholarships, sponsoring orphans and the needy in Uganda, Central China, the Holy Land and India.

Healdsburg, St. Paul’s – We are involved in extensive ministry to the homeless, including a Shower Ministry that is open four days a week, a weekly art program and a Community Meal every Sunday afternoon. We have also served as an emergency shelter in times of adverse weather conditions. In addition, we have a youth choir and offer services in Spanish.
